The room Melia Madrid Princesa is a luxury property located in a less touristy part of the city center, though still within walking distance of major attractions. Rooms are plush and modern, with all the amenities expected of a high-end hotel free Wi-Fi, minibars, electric kettles, and top-quality beds , plus marble bathrooms with double sinks and rainfall showers. Upgraded Level rooms add perks such as Nespresso machines, and access to a lounge with free breakfast and all-day snacks and drinks. The restaurant serves well-reviewed Mediterranean and local cuisine, while the lobby bar offers smaller bites and cocktails in a stylish space. The full-service spa is pleasant, but access is only free for The Level guests. An adult-only indoor pool is also available. The Melia Madrid Princesa caters to those who want something with all the bells and whistles of a high-end property sans the antiques and stuffy atmosphere.

It offers a gym and modern rooms with flat-screen satellite TV. The private bathrooms contain a hairdryer. There is also a chic bar, as well as a snack bar open all day. Extra beds are dependent on the room you choose. Please check the individual room capacity for more details.

With comfortable, modern rooms, superb service and a location that is handy but not manically busy, it suits frequent travellers who need a hotel with guaranteed standards throughout. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the surrounding streets, frequented by locals rather than visitors. Staff are highly professional and always ready to help with any problems you may have. A small gym in the basement has Life Fitness equipment. The hotel does have an indoor pool and spa but these facilities are closed and are awaiting a revamp. Meanwhile, in-room massages and other treatments are available.

Check-in, bar, restaurant and bedroom are all that you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The location was only a few minutes walk from the Plaza de Espana and within easy walking distance of the Royal Palace. A return taxi from the hotel is a fixed price of 30euros and no need to book. When we arrived at the Hotel the reception service was excellent and one of the friendliest I have had. The young lady at reception took time to show us some of the best places for site seeing and was extremely helpful. We booked one of the high rooms with a view and also booked half board.

The Hotel Melia Madrid Princesa has its main entrance tucked away up a small side street off the main road of Calle Princesa. You won't miss the hotel though, as it is the tallest building on the street and has its name perched on top of the roof. The lobby and reception is vast and filled with ornate gold furniture. It feels like the entrance hall to a palace. There's plenty of information as you enter that directs you to the various salons, meeting rooms and the restaurant.
