There is no shortage of stuff you can buy that has a Capitals Stanley Cup Championship logo smacked on it, but after finding regular orange buckets with that very same logo on it this past Thursday, fans started going nuts. After we first tweeted about it on Thursday, some made trips out to Home Depot specifically to buy the buckets while others ordered them online. They are not at every Home Depot. That said, it is a bargain for Caps-themed Stanley Cup gear, as most of the stuff folks have been purchasing cost a heck of a lot more than that. If anything, this is what you can carry your Stanley Cup gear in. There are no matching lids for this bucket, just the generic orange ones that are for the regular Home Depot buckets.

View Full Version : orange buckets from homedepot. I agree. Any bucket not labeled food grade can be made from recycled plastic. You have no way to know what the history of that plastic was. We are in the food busuness and as such must protect the product. Even if the issue is only your image, change.

The iconic Homer Bucket 5 Gal. Orange Buckets is ideal for any household or professional job. The all purpose container is constructed for plastic for durability.

Do not use them to ferment. You need to get food grade buckets. They do have those at HD and other big box stores. They'll be white and marked food grade. If you mean the 5 gallon food grade buckets I don't see why not.

So after reading about a member's terrible loss due to a water container issue, I'm wondering how safe it is to store salt water in HD buckets for a week or two at a time. Temperature roughly 77 and lid sealed- is that okay? Used a new container that somehow nuked the tank. Even if that wasn't the cause, I want to double check that I can store water in these cheap containers. I don't trust LFS jugs.
